Northern Virginia Community College and Nonprofit NoVA would like to know if your organization has available classroom space--during the day, weekends and evenings.  Fill out this one minute survey to let us know. 

Nonprofits that have extra or unused space may be able to partner with Northern Virginia Community College to provide easier and friendlier access to college programs or other benefits.


ARLINGTON NONPROFIT NETWORK
The Arlington Nonprofit Network (ANN) is mobilizing and advocating for a tax rate increase to cover the budget shortfall without cutting vital services.

The County budget will be presented on Feb 16 and a tax rate increase will be discussed at the County Board meeting on Feb 20.

LEGISLATION IMPACTS VIRGINIA NONPROFITS
The Virginia Network of Nonprofit Organizations (VANNO) is tracking 47 pieces of legislation that could impact Virginia nonprofits, including:
  • legislation allowing a locality to make gifts or donations to nonprofits engaged in providing energy efficiency services or promoting energy efficiency
  • legislation creating income tax credits for businesses and individuals who make contributions to public school or scholarship foundations
  • legislation recognizing the important contributions of philanthropy and private foundations and encouraging the formation of these entities in Virginia
