The mission of Nonprofit NoVA is to build the strength, visibility and influence of the nonprofit sector in Northern Virginia.  Our members share a commitment to a decent and meaningful quality of life for residents of Northern Virginia.  We may come at this from different angles--but the underlying purpose remains the same.

Goals and Outcomes:

In order to meet our mission, we use and promote advocacy.   By our own actions and by empowering nonprofit leaders, advocacy allows us to:

• Increase state and local funding of nonprofits;
• Improve public policy in ways that improve quality of life;
• Bring under-represented perspectives to policy discussions; and
• Ensure nonprofit CEOs are comfortable and adept at advocating on their own.
  

In line with that view, our goals are to:

• Serve as the hub, convener and voice of the nonprofit community in Northern Virginia; as needed, convene leaders to solve regional problems;
• Promote the value of nonprofit organizations and the expertise of nonprofit leaders throughout Northern Virginia;
• Develop and support nonprofit leaders in Northern Virginia, provide peer support and develop a strong sense of community within the nonprofit community; and create a network to share commonalities and best practices; and
• Develop effective tools and advocacy platforms to meet our mission and to positively affect the quality of life in Northern Virginia.
